IPL 2023 Qualifier Two, GT vs MI Predicted XIs: Will Mumbai tinker with winning combination in Ahmedabad?

May 26,2023

It's time for Qualifier Two with the defending champions Gujarat Titans going up against an in-form Mumbai Indians side who seem to be finding the groove at the right time.

MI sneaked through into the Playoffs on the last day of the league stage matches with a commanding win over SRH and actually had GT to thank for dashing RCB's hopes of making it into the top four.

From there, the five-time Champions showed their true pedigree during the Eliminator clash against LSG. After the batters had put up 182 on the board, it was over to the bowlers to get the job done.

Question marks were often raised against the MI bowling unit throughout the campaign as they were missing the services of Jasprit Bumrah and England pacer Jofra Archer was in and out of the side till his eventual departure from the squad altogether.

However, on Wednesday, Akash Madhwal led the bowling unit superbly and picked up figures of 5/5 as MI thrashed LSG by 81 runs to setup the clash with GT.

The Titans made only a few errors by captain Hardik Pandya's own admission and will be looking to deliver a top performance to setup a rematch with MS Dhoni and CSK.

Both teams will be looking to ensure there aren't any mistakes made with their selections for the game.

Predicted XIs

We can expect both teams to make only a few changes to their lineups, which has got them to this stage. For GT, Dasun Shanaka could make way for Josh Little, who could trouble the MI batters.

We can expect Vijay Shankar to come back into the lineup, rather than being an impact player. That role could be given to Abhinav Manohar to give the Titans some added depth in their batting order.

MI could only make one change to their lineup and bring in Kumar Karthikeya for Hrithik Shokeen. Nehal Wadhera is expected to retain his spot as the Impact Player for Mumbai in the match.
