IPL 2024 Orange Cap And Purple Cap Updates After DC vs GT: Rishabh Pant Climbs Up into 3rd, Kuldeep Yadav Goes to 4th

Rishabh Pant dazzled with an unbeaten 88 as Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by four runs in the 2024 Indian Premier League at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday.

Invited to bat, Pant smashed 88 not out from just 43 balls, as Axar Patel scored 66 off 43 balls – with contrasting fifties to power Delhi Capitals to 224/4. In reply, Sai Sudarshan (65 off 29 balls) and David Miller (55 off 23 balls) scored fifties but couldn’t take GT over the line, finishing at 220/8.

Virat Kohli (RCB): The Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s shining light continues to deliver with the bat however the team as a whole have not been able to perform. He may have had a disappointing outing today, especially after the controversial dismissal, but he still resides at the top of the run-scoring charts as he has accumulated 379 runs in total from the eight games he’s played at an average of 63.17 and a strike rate of 150.39

Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK): The Chennai Super Kings skipper has been leading this side from the front with the bat. The Opener has steadied the ship to build his and his teams’s innings and then gone on to launch into the bowlers.

Rishabh Pant (DC): The Delhi Capitals skipper has been at his vintage best, smashing bowlers all over the park. Pant has 342 runs to his name from nine games at an average of 48.86.

Travis Head (SRH): The star of Australia’s World Cup Final win over India, has been tearing bowling line-ups apart in the IPL. Striking sixes from the first ball itself, the southpaw has been in terrific knick and has started to pile on the runs too.  He has 324 runs to his name from six games, at an average of 54.00 and a strike rate of 216.00.

Riyan Parag (RR): The youngster has had a fantastic performance through the season with the bat and seems to have found himself at the number four spot with the Royals. He has racked up 318 runs at an average of 63.6 and striking at a rate of 161.42.

Yuzuvendra Chahal (RR): The experienced leg-spinner continues to show his doubters why he is still amongst the best spinners in the tournament as despite his horrendous spell today, his historic 200th wicket, gave him the 13th of this season.

Harshal Patel (PBKS): Despite having a rough start, and still continuing to leak runs at an alarming economy of 9.58, Harshal’s splendid three-wicket scalp today against the Gujarat Titans took his total haul to 13 wickets, tying him with table-topper Bumrah.

Kuldeep Yadav (DC): The left-arm spinner has been the strike bowler for Delhi Capitals, stepping up when his team needed him. He has taken 12 wickets from six games so far at an average of 15.25 and an economy of 7.62.

Mustafizur Rahman (CSK): The Bangladeshi pacer bowler has been a revelation for the Chennai Super Kings. He has picked 12 wickets so far from seven games at an average of  23.08 and a strike rate of 13.75.
