Govinda didn't let Kashmera Shah touch his feet at Arti's wedding, blessed her kids

After much speculation, actor Govinda attended the wedding ceremony of his niece and fellow actor, Arti Singh, on Thursday, April 25. He was accompanied by his son, Yashvardhan Ahuja. Kashmera Shah, wife of Krushna Abhishek, expressed gratitude that the actor set aside his differences with her and her husband to bless Arti. She also expressed happiness that Govinda blessed her and her children at the event.

Kashmera shared that when Govinda arrived at the wedding, she was the only one present at the gate to welcome him, as Krushna was with Arti on stage. "He was upset with Krushna and me, but not with Arti. I hoped he attended the ceremony for her, and I am glad he did. As luck would have it, I was the only one present at the entrance welcoming the guests when he entered, while Krushna was with Arti on stage. He and I were walking on opposite sides, and it felt surreal," Kashmera told an entertainment portal.

She further said, "Our eyes met; I bowed with a namaste and he smiled back. I walked up to him and straightaway took him to the stage. I bent down to touch his feet, but he didn't let me, just like how elders stop you from bending down and bless you before that. He said, 'Jeete raho, khush raho'. I bent to touch his feet. That is the apology. As a daughter-in-law, I had to do it."

Kashmera Shah and Krushna Abhishek had a falling out with their maternal uncle, whom they refer to as 'Chi Chi Mama'. They had not been on talking terms for the past eight years.

Kashmera also shared that besides blessing her, Govinda hugged her sons and bestowed blessings upon them. "He hugged them, and that was it for me. We don't have any elder in the family other than him, and he is my mama-sasur. I am so happy he blessed my kids," she added.

Arti Singh's wedding was a grand affair in Mumbai. She tied the knot with entrepreneur Dipak Chauhan in the presence of family members and friends from the television industry, including Rashami Desai, Mahira Sharma, Karan Singh Grover, and several others.
