FCI Employees & Families to get Cashless Care at 1020-Bedded SMHRC

In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare access for CGHS beneficiaries of FCI, the 1020-bedded Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre, attached to Datta Meghe Medical College, Wanadongri, Nagpur, has been empanelled with the Food Corporation of India. This initiative will extend substantial health benefits to FCI employees, departmental labourers, retired staff, their spouses, and dependents across the Nagpur region.

With this empanelment, beneficiaries under the Food Corporation of India can now avail themselves of a wide spectrum of healthcare services at Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, ranging from general and specialized treatments to surgeries and emergency care. This inclusion is expected to significantly improve healthcare accessibility and quality for thousands of beneficiaries and their families.

A key highlight of this empanelment is the reduction in the financial burden associated with medical treatment. Beneficiaries will be entitled to cashless or subsidized services as per agreement with FCI ensuring timely medical intervention without the worry of high expenses.

Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre is a multi-super-speciality healthcare institute with a well-equipped 30 bedded Emergency and 65 bedded Intensive Care Unit complex, supported by state-of-the-art facilities including the latest Cath Lab, MRI, CT Scan, Ultrasonography, and Digital X-Rays. The hospital provides advanced cardiac care such as Angiography, Angioplasty, Bypass, and Valve Surgeries, along with General and Neurosurgeries, Total Knee and Hip Replacements, Urology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Gynecology & Obstetrics, Paediatrics including Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, and Psychiatry services all under one roof. Dr.Vasant Gawande- SMHRC Chief Medical Superintendent added that to further support the beneficiaries, the hospital has established a dedicated FCI helpdesk to guide patients regarding information and procedures under the Cashless Division, under the leadership of Dr. Sudhir Singh (SMHRC-AMS) and Mr. Ahmindra Jain (AO).
