Nagpur : March 28, 2026: Procter & Gamble India (P&G India), makers of brands like Ariel, Tide and Gillette, today recognized and awarded the P&G Shiksha Betiyan Scholarship to three girls pursuing STEM courses at the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai (IIM Mumbai). P&G India implements this program in partnership with the Centre for Civil Society. The scholarships were awarded on the sidelines of the 6th edition of the IIM Mumbai Equality Summit, in the presence of V Kumar, CEO – P&G India, Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Founding Director – IIM Mumbai, Amit Chandra, CEO – Centre for Civil Society, among others.
The recognition comes at a significant milestone for P&G Shiksha, which marks over 21 years of impact and the achievement of reaching more than 1 crore children—driving improved learning outcomes for underserved communities across India.
A part of the P&G India’s flagship CSR initiative – P&G Shiksha, the Shiksha Betiyan Scholarship program is a unique initiative that offers financial assistance and mentorship opportunities to girls from underserved communities pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. This marks the fourth consecutive year of P&G Shiksha awarding the scholarship to girls pursuing higher education at IIM Mumbai, further strengthening pathways for young women to participate in and lead in emerging industrial sectors.
Over the years, P&G Shiksha has worked in collaboration with partners and communities to expand access to education and create sustained impact. By developing long-standing partnerships with organizations working at the grassroots, the initiative continues to enable opportunities that help communities grow and thrive.
Speaking on this occasion, Enakshee Deva, Head – CSR & Communications, P&G India said, “As we mark 21 years of P&G Shiksha, we aren’t just celebrating a number; we are celebrating the 1 crore dreams we have had the privilege to support. For us, impact is never a solo journey. We thrive by partnering with like-minded and effective organizations to ensure that where a child comes from, never limits where they go. P&G Shiksha Betiyan Scholarships is one of our efforts to enable learning continuity. Our endeavour remains to support communities where we live and work, and play our part.”
The transformative impact of P&G Shiksha’s efforts is reflected in every such 1 that makes the 1 crore. One such “1 in 1 Crore” journey is that of Palak Thakur, a young learner from Himachal Pradesh whose ambitions were once limited by financial constraints. The P&G Shiksha Betiyan scholarship, in association with the Centre for Civil Society, became an enabler of choice and confidence, helping her shift from preparing for railways to pursuing Artificial Intelligence and working toward becoming an AI engineer. Today, as she builds skills and mentors students, she embodies the multiplier effect of opportunity — where one scholarship doesn’t just change a life, but creates a ripple of impact beyond it.
The Scholarships were awarded on the sidelines of the 6th edition of IIM Mumbai Equality Summit, that convened key stakeholders from the government, corporate sector, and academia to deliberate on topics pertaining to advancing the representation of women in STEM careers, with a keen focus on Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
