Max Hospital, Nagpur, Organises Cyclothon to Promote Healthy Living and Cancer Awareness

Nagpur : Marking World Cancer Day with a strong message of awareness and prevention, Max Hospital, Nagpur, successfully organised a Cyclothon aimed at promoting cancer awareness and encouraging healthy living. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of citizens, bringing together people from diverse age groups and walks of life in a collective pledge towards a healthier, cancer-aware society.

The cyclothon was organised to highlight the importance of early detection, preventive care, and an active lifestyle in reducing the risk of cancer. Participants pedalled along the designated route with great energy and spirit, reflecting unity and commitment towards a cancer-free future.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Amit Samarth renowned international cyclist and endurance athlete said, “Cancer is no longer a disease without hope. With advancements in medical science, early diagnosis, and the adoption of healthy habits, many types of cancer are now preventable and treatable. Initiatives like this cyclothon, plays a crucial role in spreading awareness and inspiring people to take charge of their health.”

Cancer specialists from Max Hospital, Nagpur, were present at the event to interact with participants and share valuable insights on cancer prevention, screening, and treatment. The expert panel included Dr. Amol Dongre, Director – Medical Oncology; Dr. Shizan Pervez, Associate Director – Radiation Oncology & Radiosurgery, Dr. Kawadu Jawade, Consultant – Surgical Oncology & other consultants of Max Hospital, Nagpur.

Initiatives like this cyclothon help bridge the gap between medical knowledge and community awareness, encouraging people to take proactive steps towards long-term health.”

The event saw participation from more than 500 + people, including students, working professionals, cyclists, and doctors and staff of Max Hospital, Nagpur, making it a truly community-driven initiative.

The cyclothon concluded on a lively note with engaging activities, including an RJ interaction, a Zumba session, and food stalls offering a variety of delicacies. A lucky draw added excitement to the event, where participants had the chance to win a brand-new bicycle.
